918-BK TROUBLESHOOTING T 1. 'INCORRECT INSTALLATION' or 'CARTRIDGE NOT COMPATIBLE' MESSAGES DISPLAY: 1.Remove cartridge from printer (use Protector). 2.Wipe contact plate on cartridge with tissue. 3.Use soft cloth (not tissue) moistened with water to wipe contacts inside cartidge cradle in printer. 4.Replace cartridge (use Protector). If messages still display: white contact points on cartridge are scratched. Cartridge is not usable.
T 2. IF INK STAINS ON PRINT PAPER: 1. REMOVE CARTRIDGE. 2. Stand cartridge on paper, printhead down, until leaking stopped. 3. Wipe inside printer with soft water moistened cloth (see User's Guide). 4. Reload & do clean/prime.
T 3. IF CARTRIDGE STILL FAILS TO PRINT OR PRINTING HAS WHITE LINES EVEN AFTER REPEATED PRINTHEAD CLEANING: 1. Remove cartridge from printer. 2. Place cartridge with print-head down in a plastic bowl containing hot water (DISTILLED water is best) about 1.5cm/0.5" deep. Leave for at least 30 minutes. 3. Reload in printer and run 'print-head clean' up to 5 times & test print. 4. Repeat this process until print is like new.
T 4. IF PRINTING HAS WHITE LINES EVEN AFTER REPEATED PRINTHEAD CLEANING: 1. Remove cartridge from printer. 2. Wipe metal part of cartridge. 3. Closely check white contact points on metal. (Magnifying glass is best.) If any white contact points have small marks, print quality cannot be improved. Accept print quality from this cartridge or recover ink into bottle for next cartridge. NOTE: always load/unload cartridge carefully. Never touch printhead or metal part with hard object.
